Frequently asked questions about Boxes

1. What is the minimum amount I need to order for custom packaging?

Our minimum quantity is 30 units.

2. How long does it take to manufacture custom packaging?

Our lead times range from 2 to 3 days from payment made and artwork approved. Additional lead time for larger quantity orders is required. Delay in manufacturing due to material placed on order, or availability of material will also influence the completion time.

3.  Are tooling fees the same as set-up costs?

Tooling fees is a fee charged to make a die-cut or foil block used to manufacture a specific order placed.
The set-up fee is a fee charged for setting up machinery with registration and setting of specific material for the job.
Therefore the tooling fee and the set-up cost are two different charges.

4. Can I visit you?

We are available during office hour on appointment. Please book an appointment in order to give us time for preparation for your specific enquiry.

5.  What materials do you use to make boxes?

Our main line of manufacturing is called paper over board, in short, it is a base box, made from a pressed paper chipboard, covered in a paper chosen by the customer. It is also called a rigid box. We also manufacture flat pack boxes which are made from the common 300gsm board, E-flute or printed material.

6.  Can I get a sample?

A sample may be ordered. We don’t keep samples, we will be able to manufacture a sample according to your specification. Charges will apply to all samples and, in some cases, design, tooling and setup fees will be charged in addition to the cost of the physical sample.

Frequently asked questions about Wedding Stationary

7.  Can I get a proof of the approval of my artwork?

Once we receive all your information for the wedding stationary, once the deposit has been made, we start with the design of your wedding stationary, as discussed. A proof will be e-mailed to you with a layout and detail added on to the wedding stationary, for example, ribbons, tokens, crystals etc. The design fee includes this design and 3 changes to the design. We only start with the manufacturing process once you have approved the design.

8. How can I cancel the order?

You may cancel your order. We cannot, however, refund you on the material, tooling and finishing products purchased for your order, you will, therefore, be charged accordingly. If the stationary is competed and then the order is cancelled the full amount will be payable.

9. Which file formats do you accept?

We accept written content in either word or excel format. Any pdf information that needs to be re-typed will be charged for at an hourly administrative rate. Pictures are preferred in JPEG, large format only. No cellophane pictures will be used for design purposes.

10. How long does it take for production and delivery?

Once you approved your order, manufacturing will take 1 – 2 weeks for collection

11. How do I place an order?

You place your order with written confirmation, acceptance of quotation and deposit payment.

12.  When should I send my wedding invitations?

The norm is to send out your wedding invitations 2 months prior to the wedding. If you have a destination wedding or picked a date that is during the festive season, you may want to invite your guests sooner. This will afford them enough time to plan their schedules to make arrangements to attend your wedding.

13. Do you offer rush order?

We can assist with rush orders. Additional charges will be applicable and vary from 20 – 50% depending on the order and lead time. Keep in mind all rush orders are paid in full before production commences.

14.   What is a monogram?

A monogram is a decorative design with the bride and groom’s initials. This can be used in all the wedding stationary as a design element.

15.  How do I choose paper, and can I order paper samples?

We showcase our paper and options with the consultation. We will advise and assist you in choosing the best products for your theme, colour scheme and design. We also have all our paper swatches in digital format. Your paper swatch will be included in your digital proof to avoid any confusion.

16.  How long does the design process take and what is the charge for design?

The design for your wedding stationary will only commence once the deposit is made according to the provided quotation. All information e-mailed to us must be in excel or word format. The design process takes 1 – 2 weeks. To finalise the design, the proof needs to be approved in writing, it is then placed in the production line for manufacturing.

Frequently asked questions about Laser cutting

17.  What materials cut well?

We recommend a 3mm wood for any wooden products. A 3mm Perspex is also suitable for most signage and works well with small detail. 80gsm to 300gsm is suitable for paper products.

18.  What is a size of the cutting area?

Our cutting bed is 900 x 1300mm. Please allow at least 20mm for bleed.

19.  How thick can you cut?

Engraving can be set to different depths depending on material and artwork. We will advise you on what we think will work best on your specific project.

20.  How do you determine the cost per laser cut?

Laser-cutting is charge according to the amount of time it takes for the machine to finish cutting or engraving your product; this is done per minute. The more detail included in the design, the longer the machine will take to cut. We can only give a formal quote once the artwork is drawn, and set according to your material and design. We cannot give a formal quote on a picture, therefore we could only provide a rough estimate.
